Sole proprietor (FOP) registration with advisory support
We support the selection of KVED activity codes, the review of the tax model, the preparation of data for filing and the first steps after the entry is made in the State Register (EDR).
Who a sole proprietorship suits
- An individual who sells goods or provides services independently and does not need partners in the charter capital.
- A small business whose activity and counterparties meet the conditions of the chosen tax regime.
- Specialists, consultants, IT professionals, online businesses and local entrepreneurs, after a check of the specific model.
- Those who understand the entrepreneur’s personal liability and do not need the corporate structure of an LLC.

Why the group and KVED codes should not be chosen at random
A completed registration does not in itself confirm that the tax model suits the business. A mistake in the KVED code, the single-tax group, the way payments are received or work with particular counterparties can create tax risks right after launch. That is why, before filing, we check the whole chain: what you sell, to whom, where, how you receive payment, whether you hire employees and whether you work with non-residents.
What is needed to register a sole proprietorship
- An identity document and the taxpayer registration number.
- Up-to-date contact details and the address of residence.
- A description of goods, services, customers, the territory of operation and payment methods, for the selection of KVED codes.
- A decision on the general or simplified tax system and on the single-tax group, if one is available for the chosen activity.
- A qualified electronic signature (QES) for online filing, or the documents required for another agreed method.
What the support includes
- Comparison of a sole proprietorship and an LLC, if the form has not been decided.
- Selection of the primary and additional KVED codes based on an agreed description of the activity.
- Check of eligibility for the simplified system, choice of group and assessment of the need for VAT.
- Review of payment-acceptance methods and a preliminary assessment of the need for electronic cash registers (RRO / PRRO).
- Preparation and filing of the application, or support for filing it yourself through Diia.
- Check of the result in the State Register and of the tax status after registration.
- A calendar of the first payments and reports, and of the documents that need to be organised.
Cost of support
Sole proprietor registration support starts from UAH 2,000. This includes the selection of KVED codes, a review of the tax model and support with filing the application. Additional costs are possible for an in-depth consultation on a complex activity or for urgent services.
Calculate the cost of accounting support →Registration through Diia and the role of the consultant
Diia provides automatic online registration of sole proprietors without the involvement of a state registrar. The technical filing may be simple, but the portal does not replace an analysis of the business model. Our support goes beyond the technical filing of the application: it includes a check of KVED codes, the tax model and payment methods before registration, and the organisation of the first accounting steps after the entry is made in the State Register.
What to do after opening a sole proprietorship
- Check the State Register entry and the confirmation of the chosen tax status.
- Open an account for business activity and set up the QES.
- Define the list of primary documents and how they are stored.
- Check the rules on the use of RRO or PRRO for the actual payment methods.
- Set up the recording of income, taxes, reporting and employees, if there are any.
Frequently asked questions
How much does it cost to open a sole proprietorship?
In our proposal we separate the state electronic service from Viaduk’s advisory support. The price of support depends on whether KVED selection, group analysis, VAT, foreign trade, RRO or PRRO and the connection of accounting are needed.
How long does it take to register a sole proprietorship?
Diia describes automatic online registration without a state registrar. The actual time for a full start also depends on the tax status, the bank account, the QES and the set-up of accounting, so we show these stages separately.
Can I work with foreign customers?
The possibility and the tax consequences depend on the services or goods, the contracts, the payment method, the currency, the group and the status of the counterparty. We check the model before the first payment.
Is an RRO or PRRO required?
It depends on the type of activity and the way payments are made. The fact of registering as a sole proprietor does not give a universal answer, so we check the actual payment scenario.
